Note: Top, bottom and the pillars are covered with commercial wood protection. Scenes are waxed, not dyed. The reason for their different tones is the wood - this peace of walnut is naturally colored in two tones and as you turn the egg you can see how color changes from lighter (Raising of Lazarus and Jericho) to darker (Cana wedding and Walk on water).
